    • Year 5 Start the Summer Term with Bikeability

      Published 29/04/26

We were delighted to start our Summer term with Bikeability training for our Year 5 pupils, providing them with a fantastic and practical learning opportunity.

Throughout the week, the children took part in structured cycling sessions designed to help them ride safely and confidently. They learnt key skills including bike control, road awareness, signalling and how to stay safe when cycling near traffic. The pupils approached each session with enthusiasm and maturity, showing excellent focus and growing confidence as the week progressed.

Bikeability is a valuable life skill that supports independence, promotes road safety and encourages healthy, active lifestyles. We are very proud to be able to offer opportunities like this to our pupils, giving them meaningful experiences that extend learning beyond the classroom.

Well done to all of our Year 5 children for their positive attitudes and fantastic effort, and thank you to the Bikeability instructors for delivering such engaging and informative sessions. What a brilliant way to begin the Summer term at Dunsford Community Academy!

    • MED Theatre Visit Our School

      Published 01/04/26

We were delighted to welcome MED Theatre into school recently for an amazing performance of Locked in the Library, followed by engaging workshops that were enjoyed by all of our children.

The performance was lively, imaginative and expertly delivered, capturing the children’s attention from start to finish. Locked in the Library brought learning to life through drama, encouraging creativity, confidence and curiosity. Following the performance, pupils took part in interactive workshops where they explored drama skills, shared ideas and worked collaboratively with their peers.

The children showed fantastic enthusiasm throughout the day and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the experience. It was wonderful to see such high levels of excitement and engagement across the school — our children were very lucky to take part in such a memorable opportunity.

A huge thank you to our PTFA for organising this fantastic visit and making it possible. We are extremely grateful for their continued support in providing enriching experiences for our pupils.
